Publisher review:Taxi - movement of bacteria to the food Bacteria performs 2-dimensional random walk with some normal rate of 'resets' - selecting a new direction independent of the old one. Experiments show that bacteria move towards a food.
This is achieved by sensing variations in food concentration and changing accordingly the rate of 'resets': more food induces less resets per unit time, less food induces more resets per unit time. In addition, the bacteria adapt to constant levels of food, i.e. it returns to the normal resets rate (exact adaptation).
Taxi is a Matlab script for Bio-Informatics scripts design by shmuel ben-ezra.
It runs on following operating system: Windows / Linux / Mac OS / BSD / Solaris.
